When I install a new software program or change a network card on the Pharos Server the Pharos System fails to start.
When the network card is changed on a Windows PC, Windows writes a new services file. Pharos applications rely on entries made in this file at install time to determine how to communicate with each other. When it is overwritten, the applications will stop working correctly. Before you install a new network card, make a copy of the services file and copy it back afterward. The services file is located at:
WINNT\system32\drivers\etc on Windows NT and Windows 2000
WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc on Windows XP
